"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."-Emerson

Bowling

We took the kids bowling last night, I think that's the first time we've done anything fun as a family, it was nice! Debbie didn't want to wear the shoes at first, so we had Isaac show her how it was done and after a few minutes she finally warmed up to the idea and let us put the shoes on her. Isaac loved it!
It was nice that they had the ramps to help the kids out, Debbie ended up beating us all!

Cosette handled the evening really well, she was passed off between everyone and was mostly content.
I've decided that I don't like bowling. Here's why: Debbie 125, Sara 116, Chad 112, Isaac 80, Nick 65, Leah 57

Cosette's Birthday Party

We celebrated Cosette's birthday tonight and it was a lot of fun! Grandma and Grandpa Rogers and Uncle Kyle came down and we had some friends come over to sing Happy Birthday to Cosette. She wasn't sure what to think when we plopped this big huge piece of chocolate cake down in front of her.
I had to give her a first bite before she was willing to try it herself.
Isaac came and asked for a wipe and I thought he wanted it to clean his own face off with. Turns out he wanted it for Cosette, he did not like how dirty her face was!
She got more cake ON her than in her, but that's the way it's supposed to be for your first birthday! All the kids playing in the tent in Debbie and Isaac's room...
From left to right: Presley, Debbie, Anthony, Michaela, Knox, and Isaac
We're sure grateful for the friendships we've made in the short while we've lived in student housing down here!

Cosette

Cosette turns ONE this week!! I can't believe it! The time has FLOWN! I decided I would post some pictures from the first year of her life. She has been such a blessing to us!She was born at 2:30 am weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. Which is huge because she was five weeks early! This first picture was taken when she was 1 1/2 days old. Chad was wearing a mask because he was battling a cold.
This is Cosette at 1 week. And I love this picture! I love her little elf ears!
First day home from the hospital. Debbie has adored Cosette from the first time she saw her. Both Debbie and Isaac are sooo good with Cosette, there's no doubt that they love their baby sister!
Blessing day - 2 months old. (very yucky picture of me...)
6 months old, at the surgical center getting tubes put in her ears. I am SOO grateful for those tubes! Poor baby.
7 months old
10 months old
She's always so happy!
11 months old
She has started crinkling up her nose when she smiles, she's so funny.
THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR FAMILY COSETTE! WE LOVE YOU!!
I'll post pictures of her birthday after she has it. :)

Gravity

I don't know where these kids learn some of the stuff they say. Today as Debbie was standing in the middle of the room trying to put her boots on she started to fall and muttered, "stupid gravity." What?! Gravity?! Must've learned that from Sesame Street, because I'm certainly not smart enough to explain gravity to her.
Oh, and
Cosette is walking now!!! She finally decided it was worth her time to walk more than a few steps at a time. Yay!

Another Lesson from Debbie

Debbie has once again innocently offered me wise advice. Advice that was very humbling and I am going to try to remember it and live it. I've been feeling a little out of sorts lately and have been taking it out on the kids. I'm not proud of it, but I've been short with them and have been yelling at them a lot more. Well, today at lunch I yelled at Debbie for talking during the prayer and then immediately felt bad so I apologized to her for it. And then she gave me great and very sweet advice. She said, "It's okay for you to yell at me mommy, it's just not okay for you to yell at me TWELVE times." How sweet is that? I don't give this little girl enough credit, I really need to appreciate her more.
